A personal turning toward service, reflection, and renewal

The word retirement has never quite fit. It suggests an ending, a stepping away, a quiet fade. But for me, this moment feels more like a turning—toward something deeper, more intentional, and richly layered.
Since my junior year in college in 1977, I’ve been immersed in the corporate world. In 1996, I stepped into entrepreneurship, launching my own business and embracing the challenges and joys of leading with purpose. But even then, my life was never defined by one lane.
I’ve always moved between paths—creative, communal, and contemplative. Whether through art, movement, healing work, or quiet service, I’ve found meaning in the spaces where presence and purpose meet.
Now, as I formally transition from my professional role as president and founder of Potential Released Consulting Services, I’m not stepping away—I’m shifting focus. These are my enrichment years: a time to lean more fully into service, creativity, and connection. I envision more time creating art, more time volunteering, more time simply being present. This change hasn’t arrived suddenly; it wasn’t marked by balloons or farewell speeches, nor by a single moment. Instead, it’s been unfolding quietly, like a tide coming in—as I gradually and intentionally made space for new priorities.
This next chapter isn’t about leaving something behind. It’s about honoring what’s been, while embracing what’s next. The relationships I’ve built over the years—grounded in trust, insight, and shared purpose—remain part of my legacy, even as I step into a new rhythm.
If you’re navigating a shift of your own—or simply reflecting on what enrichment means in this season of life—I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to leave a comment below and share a moment, a memory, or a question that’s unfolding. This space is meant for connection, and your voice is always welcome.
